The 2010 Global Entrepreneurship Summer School (GESS) significantly impacted our founder and influenced the creation of Nanofacile and its mission of accessible RNA therapy development for all.
Learning from alumni and entrepreneurs in Cape Town
Ruben described the experience as transformative, emphasizing how interactions with entrepreneurs from around the world enriched his understanding of innovation. “The opportunity to interact with entrepreneurs from diverse national backgrounds was instrumental in expanding my global perspective on innovation” he shared. “It exposed me to a wide array of novel approaches and frameworks that I can potentially integrate into my own practices to stimulate innovation.” He noted that conversations with founders who embrace a triple bottom line—balancing social, environmental, and financial goals—were particularly impactful. These cross-cultural exchanges, he added, provided both strategic insights and tangible tools that he now plans to apply in Nanofacile to drive meaningful, sustainable innovation.

The meetings and engaging discussions in Cape Town have opened up new opportunities for us. By exploring local projects, especially in communities like Khayelitsha, we gained insight into the critical need for accessible and adaptable solutions—an objective that Nanofacile is actively pursuing.
These exchanges have reinforced our vision and our commitment to responsible innovation. Collaborating with international experts allows us to continuously refine our technology and develop solutions that truly meet the evolving needs of patients and researchers.
